Ready to tackle pants with pockets? Wardrobe by Me’s Easy Pants and their counterpart, Summer Pants are a contemporary pant with an easy fitting drawstring waist but with the addition of side pockets, cuffs, and back pockets. This project will stretch your skills and you’ll make a pant that is just a little more elegant than a pair of joggers but without the stress of a zipper fly.
We recommend tracing your pattern onto Swedish Tracing Paper prior to class.
If you need someone to take your measurements accurately please ask a craft associate when you come in for your supplies. This may also be the perfect project to create a wearable muslin – we recommend making your wearable muslin out of a similar weight fabric that you intend on using for your final version.
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Intermediate. This is 100% NOT your first garment. You’ve made other clothes in the past – not necessarily tailored clothes but clothes none the less.
- We provide: the studio space, machines (with super cool automatic button holes), tools and expertise.
- You bring: Fabric you love! Recommended fabrics are: mid-heavyweight cotton canvas, corduroy, light-medium weight woolens, twill, bottom-weight linen, and 7 – 8oz denim. Your total yardage is dependent on your size and style (want it a little longer or maybe cropped?), 3/4 yds of interfacing, 1-2 yds of 1 1/2″ elastic, and 2-3 yds of 3/8″-5/8″ drawstring cord, and a copy of either pattern. (Want to make shorts? You can do that too!) Don’t forget that we offer 15% off all class supplies!
- Class length: 3 hours each session for a total of 9 hours.
Sessions run on Tuesdays, April 2, 9, and 16 at 6 PM.
