Have you been looking for a way to use visible mending to repair your hand knit garments? Maybe some of your favorite clothes need a little love (ours always do!) and you want to learn how to easily darn socks or mend a hole in a sweater? The Katrinkles Darning & Mending Loom Kit includes all of the tools you need to repair a hole in a knitted garment, making it easy to do it yourself. Katy (of Katrinkles and maker of the Darning & Mending Loom) will walk you through the process and you will have enclosed simple instructions to refresh your memory later. You’ll be mending clothing and accessories in no time! Thanks to the unique construction of the Katrinkles Darning Loom, accomplishing more creative or complicated mends is easier than with a traditional darning egg or darning mushroom.
Limited to 10 students (16 yrs of age or older); 50% enrollment required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
- We provide: A Katrinkles Darning Loom, Katy, and access to scissors while you work.
- You bring: yourself, a hand knit sock (or commercial knit sock) with or without a hole (ideal would be a hand knit sock with a hole to mend) – the elbow or wrist of a sweater sleeve would also be appropriate. And some fingering weight yarn (a few yards of a color that contrasts the sock will make it easier to see your work) – don’t have leftover fingering weight yarn on hand?
